We are committed to providing the most comprehensive and individualized quality obstetrical and gynelogical care to women in the Southcoast region.  Dr. Mark Lowney, founder of Highland OBGYN, has over 20 years of experience taking care of patients in this area.  Dr. Lacey LaBarge recently joined the practice in July 2011.  As a Massachusetts native, she is happy to be back in the area after recently completing her residency.  Dr Barbara Soares has over 20 years of experience taking care of patients in need of gynelogical care, and has just recently joined the practice.  Kathleen London Lopes, a certified nurse midwife, is one of the first nurse midwives to practice in the Southcoast region, and is dedicated to providing personalized care to obstetrical, gynelogical, and adolescent patients.

We are also committed to providing expedient and reliable services to all patients, including Massachusetts Medicaid, Medicare, and MassHealth patients.  We offer same-day walk-in visits for emergency obstetrical and gynelogical care.

State-of-The Art Technology and Services

We pride ourselves on the fact that we are able to provide state-of-the-art advanced medical services including high risk obstetrics, gynelogic, and infertility care.  We offer in-office ThermaChoice Ablation, Essure tubal occlusion, and Loop electro-excisional procedures.  We also have an in-office laboratory and provide in-office ultrasound for patient convenience.  Finally, we are proud to offer DaVinci Robotic surgery at Charlton Memorial Hospital.

Our Commitment to Midwifery

Highland OBGYN is the first obstetric practice in the Southcoast region to have midwives on staff. Having a midwife on staff allows patients the option of experiencing a natural birthing process in a relaxed atmosphere with immediate access to the resources of a specialized Level 2 nursery at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA.
